Before you rent a photo booth, ask about five things: what the day price covers, whether prints are unlimited, whether an attendant stays for the whole event, what can be branded, and what the venue must provide. This checklist has 15 questions to ask any photo booth rental company in India, what a good answer sounds like, and how we answer each one. It is written for couples, HR and admin teams, event planners and agencies who are comparing quotes for a wedding, corporate event, exhibition or party.
Price and what it includes
1. What is the price, and for how many hours?
A day price means little until you know how long the booth runs. Ask for the guest-facing hours in writing, and whether setup time counts against them.

2. Are prints unlimited, or is there a cap?
Some packages include a fixed number of prints and charge for more. At a wedding or a busy stall, a cap runs out faster than you expect, and then you are either paying extra on the night or turning guests away.

3. Is an attendant included for the whole event?
A booth with nobody beside it slows down: guests are unsure what to tap, the queue stalls, and a paper jam waits until someone notices. Ask whether the attendant is included, and whether they stay from opening to close.

4. Is travel included for my city?
Transport, the attendant's travel and stay, and loading at the venue are real costs for an event outside the company's home city. Ask whether they are in the price or added later.

5. Are taxes included?

6. How are extra hours handled?

7. What will guests take home?
Ask about the print size, whether strips are available, and how guests get a digital copy. A booth that only shares digitally leaves guests with nothing in hand.

8. Can I see real photos and video from real events?
Renders and stock photos show you nothing. Ask for photos and a video of the actual booth with real guests, and for a sample print if you can visit.

9. What can be branded?
Many rentals stop at a logo on the print. Ask whether the welcome screen, the touchscreen journey, the print frame and the booth body can carry your design.

10. When do I approve the designs?
You want to see the screens and the frame before the event, not on the night. Ask when the artwork is due and when you get the proofs.

12. How much space, power and internet does it need?

13. When do you arrive, and when do you pack up?
Venues give fixed setup and pack-down windows, and some only allow loading through a service lift. Ask the rental company to confirm their timings against the venue's rules.

14. What happens if something stops working?
Printers jam and Wi-Fi drops. Ask who fixes it on site, whether spare paper travels with the booth, and who the company calls if the attendant cannot fix it.

15. What are the payment and cancellation terms?
Ask for the advance, the balance due date, and what happens if your date moves. Get it in writing before you pay anything.

Red flags when comparing photo booth quotes
- A low price with a small print cap. Work out what the night costs if every guest wants a print.
- No attendant, or an attendant for part of the event. The booth becomes your staff's job.
- Only renders or stock photos. Ask for real photos and video of the same booth.
- No written quote. Hours, prints, travel, taxes and terms belong on paper.
- "Branding" that means a logo sticker. Ask to see the screen and the frame.
