How does UPI payment work on the photo booth?
A dynamic QR code displays on the booth screen showing the session price. Guests scan with any UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, etc.), confirm the amount, and complete payment. The booth automatically detects successful payment via webhook and immediately starts the photo session. Settlement happens directly to your linked bank account.
Is there any MDR or transaction fee?
UPI payment terms and any provider charges are confirmed during setup. Compare the provider terms for your payment setup.
Which UPI apps are supported?
All UPI apps work with our photo booth - Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM UPI, Amazon Pay, WhatsApp Pay, and any other UPI-enabled banking app. If it can scan a UPI QR code, it works. This covers virtually UPI users with a compatible app.
How fast is payment confirmation?
Payment confirmation depends on the payment provider and connectivity. As soon as UPI confirms the transaction via our integrated webhook, the photo booth automatically activates and the guest can start their session. No manual verification needed.
What if UPI payment fails?
If a payment fails or times out, the booth displays a clear message and the guest can retry. Failed transactions don't charge the guest. Our system also supports fallback to other payment modes (RFID, cards) if configured, ensuring no lost customers.
Can I set different prices for different times or events?
Yes, pricing is fully configurable through the operator dashboard. You can set different prices for weekdays vs weekends, peak vs off-peak hours, special events, or promotions. Prices update on the QR code automatically.
How do I track UPI payments and revenue?
All UPI transactions are logged in your operator dashboard with timestamp, amount, UPI ID (masked for privacy), and session details. You can view daily, weekly, monthly reports, export to Excel, and reconcile with your bank statements.
Is UPI the only payment option?
No, the booth supports multiple payment modes: UPI QR code, RFID wristband/card integration (for FECs), card payments (optional terminal), and free play mode. You choose which modes to enable based on your venue and customer preferences.
